Qualcomm Introducing Snapdragon 835
Qualcomm in collaboration with Samsung Electronics has officially announced its latest and greatest processor, as well as the latest member joining the Snapdragon family, the Snapdragon 835, delivering a brand new mobile processor that offers "more performance and efficiency to mobile with the 10nm FinFET process".
The Snapdragon 835 will be featuring:
- Built on the 10nm FinFET process
- Smaller chip footprint for larger batteries or slimmer designs
- Greater power efficiency and increase performance
- Up to a 30% increase in area efficiency
- Up to 27% higher performance
- Up to 40% lower power consumption
According to Qualcomm "Despite its diminutive form, a chip of this size can open up critical space and introduce major performance gains, giving Snapdragon 835 users more room in their devices for cutting-edge features and superior mobile experiences.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is now in production and it is expected to begin shipping in the first half of 2017 alongside next year's flagship smartphones.
