Oculus Rift Minimum Specs Revealed

Following the announcement of the Oculus Rift Recommended Specs over one year ago, Oculus has officially revealed the latest details about its virtual reality headset, including the minimum system requirements to run the Oculus Rift.

Oculus Rift Minimum Specs include:
  • OS - Windows 8 or newer
  • CPU - Intel i3-6100 / AMD FX4350 or greater
  • GPU - NVIDIA GTX 960 or greater
  • RAM - 8GB of memory or better 
  • Video Output - HDMI 1.3
  • USB Ports - 1x USB 3.0 port, plus 2x USB 2.0 ports
According to Oculus "We’re introducing a minimum spec for Rift that brings VR to an even bigger audience. With lower CPU and GPU requirements, people can get into VR at a lower cost with a wider range of hardware

Last but not least, the studio has stated that certain experiences on Rift may require a computer system exceeding the Oculus minimum specifications, so it is recommended to use the recommended specifications for an optimal experience.
