Twitter Launches On Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV & Xbox One


The online social networking service has officially announced that its Twitter application will now be expanding to current-gen Apple TV, Xbox consoles and Amazon Fire TV devices offering users a chance to live stream "premium video content" as well as consume "the best of Twitter".

The new Twitter app will enable featuring:

  • The ability to access all live streaming video available on Twitter including live streams of 10 NFL Thursday Night Footballgames, as well as content from MLB Advanced Media, NBA, Pac 12 Networks, Campus Insiders, Cheddar and Bloomberg News
  • Access to other Twitter content such as top Tweets and top global Vines and Periscopes
  • The ability to view live premium video and check out Tweeted video clips through a seamless side-by-side video experience (Exclusively on Apple TV)
  • No Twitter account, cable or satellite subscription are required to access the HD streams
The Twitter app is now available to download globally for free through the App Store for Apple TV 4th-Gen, while Xbox One edition will be released in the Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Last but not least, the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick version is limited to the United States and the United Kingdom.
