Samsung Introducing Gear S3

Samsung has officially announced its latest and greatest wearable product, as well as the latest member joining the Gear family, the Gear S3, delivering a successor to last year's Gear S2 that offers "sophisticated, timeless design and enhanced standalone features".

The Gear S3 features 1.3-inch (360x360) Circular Super AMOLED and Always On Display, Exynos7270 Dual-core processor clocked at 1.0 GHz, 768MB ofmemory, 4GB of built-in storage, wireless charging support, up to four days of battery life, IP68 (Dust and Water Resistant) Samsung Pay support, Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1, and runs Tizen OS (Tizen Based Wearable Platform 2.3.2).

The round smarwatch comes in two variant, the Gear S3 Frontier with a rugged outdoor look that was designed to perform in any setting or environment, as well as the Gear S3 Classic with a minimalist, elegant style that was designed with meticulous attention to detail. The smartwatch also support LTE connectivity (frontier edition), built-in speaker and GPS, 22mm watch bands, Corning Gorilla Glass SR+, and enhanced rotating bezel.

According to Samsung "With the Gear S3, we continue to build on our wearables heritage of offering diverse choices to enhance consumers’ unique lifestyles," The company continued "Samsung Gear S2 achieved meaningful progress in the smartwatch category with a personalized watch face and a versatile rotating bezel that provided an intuitive smartwatch experience. Now with the new Gear S3, we expand our Gear collection and introduce not only a great smartwatch, but a great watch. With smart capabilities and sophisticated, elegant design, the Gear S3 marks a significant addition to our smartwatch portfolio".

Unfortunately, there is no word yet on the Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic pricing nor their availability.
