PS4 Pro & Slim Officially Announced

Following the launch of the PlayStation 4 three years ago, Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially revealed its latest and greatest product, as well as the latest members joining the PS4 family, the PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim, delivering a new high-end console as well as a second slimmer, lighter model.

The PS4 Pro will be feturing:
  • 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR) support
  • Smoother frame rates
  • More powerful GPU and faster CPU
  • 1TB hard drive and 8GB GDDR5 RAM
  • Support for 4K video streaming including YouTube and Netflix
  • 4K auto-upscaling for video content
  • Compatible with every PS4 game
  • 4K Blu-ray Discs not supported
While the PS4 Slim, also known as the new PS4 Standard, will be featuring:
  • Reduced volume by 30% compared to the original PS4
  • Reduced weight by 16% compared to the original PS4
  • Reduced power consumption by 28% compared to the original PS4
  • Packs all of the same powerful components and features found in the original PS4
The PS4 Slim will be available September 15 starting at $299.99, while the PS4 Pro will be launching November 10 for $399.99.
