Moto Z Play Officially Announced


Motorola has officially announced its latest and greatest mid-range product, as well as the latest member joining the Moto Z family, the Moto Z Play, delivering a new variant to the three months old Moto Z & Moto Z Force that offers some downgraded specs and reduced price tag.

The Moto Z Play features 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 625 Octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB of memory, 32GB of built-in storage, microSD card (up to 2TB), 16MP shooter with Laser auto-focus and 5MP front-facing camera with flash, 3510 mAh battery, and runs near-Stock Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The phablet comes in 6.99mm thin and weighs 165g, with Metal and glass construction, USB-C and 3.5mm headphone jack ports, TurboPower (up to 9 hours of usage in just 15 minutes of juice), fingerprint sensor in the front, Water repellent , compatible with previous Moto Mods and adds a new Hasselblad True Zoom Mod.

The Moto Z Play will be available September 8th in North America through the company's online store and Verizon as Moto Z Play Droid Edition for $408 ($17/month), while Europe will get it this month for 499€. Last but not least, the unlocked version will be available next month for $449.99.
