The Apple Watch Series 2 features 38mm or 42mm lightweight aluminum or stainless steel cases, more than two times brighter display, custom designed System in Package, Second-Gen S2 chip Dual-core processor (up to 50 percent faster), new GPU has been added (up to two-times-greater graphics performance), and and runs watchOS 3.
The smartwatch comes with Built-in GPS, Water resistance up to 50 meters, Heart Rate Sensor, two new workout options including pool and open water, a wide variety of new band colors. Last but not least, the company has also announced the ceramic Apple Watch Edition with a white case, white, pearl-like finish, and more than four times harder compared to stainless steel.
According to Apple "With a powerful new dual-core processor, water resistance 50 meters and built-in GPS, Apple Watch Series 2 is packed with features to help our customers live a healthy life".
The Apple Watch Series 2 will be available to pre-order September 9 starting at $369 in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and Space Gray aluminum, or Silver and Space Black stainless steel options, while the smartwatch will begin shipping September 16.
