Apple Releases iOS 10 To The Public


Apple has officially announced that its latest and greatest mobile operating system, as well as the latest entry in the iOS family, iOS 10, has now began rolling out to all compatible Apple-based mobile devices, including iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad devices, for download and update.

iOS 10 brings several new features as well as other enhancements such as:

  • Messages brings new animated and personalized ways to message friends and family, as well as support for third-party apps with the ability to send stickers, personalized GIFs, send payments and much more
  • Siri now support third-party apps offering users the ability to interact directly with the apps they love to use by simply using their voice
  • Maps has been redesigned to make it even simpler and more intuitive to use, and now support third-party apps integration
  • Memories has been added to Photos to help you rediscover favorite and forgotten occasions from your photo library, while Memory Movie can automatically edite a movie with theme music, titles and cinematic transitions
  • The Home app delivers a simple and secure way to set up, manage and control your smart home devices and accessories in one place. Plus you can even controll them by using Siri
  • All-New Design for Apple Music & News
  • Raise to Wake automatically wakes the screen as you raise your iPhone, making it easier to view all your notifications at a glance, right from the Lock screen
  • QuickType now includes new features like contextual predictions and multiple languages support for predictive typing 
  • Phone adds integration for third-party VoIP calls, voicemail transcription and a new caller ID extension for spam alerts
  • Built-in app updates include Safari split-view for iPad, Notes collaboration and Live Photos editing
  • Apple Pay can now be used inside Safari on participating websites 
  • Bedtime Alarm in the Clock app lets you set a regular sleep schedule and receive bedtime reminders
iOS 10 is now available to download as a free update on iPod Touch (6th-Gen), iPhone 5 or later, iPad mini 2 or newer, iPad Air/2, and iPad Pro devices.
