Android Marshmallow Begins Rolling Out On OnePlus X


Following the release of OxygenOS 3.1.1 Community Beta couple weeks ago, OnePlus has officially announced the latest software update coming to its 2016 mid-range smartphone, OxygenOS 3.1.2, delivering a host of improvements as well as the long waited Marshmallow update.

OxygenOS 3.1.2 for OnePlus X features:

  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade
  • Launcher upgrades like new icon packs, Google search bar UI customization, and a new design of wallpaper picker
  • Shelf UX improvements including Long press boards to rearrange or remove
  • General system performance improvement
  • Settings changes such as new (native Android) app permissions, and a new Alert Slider settings with more customization options
  • New apps including OnePlus Music Player and OnePlus Gallery
  • Implemented October Android security patches
  • General bug fixes
OxygenOS 3.1.2 is now rolling out as a free update to all OnePlus X owners. However, some users may not get it immediately as the "OTA will be incremental".
