Samsung Releases New Gear S2 Firmware Update

Samsung has officially released a brand new firmware update for its Tizen-based Gear S2 smartwatch, Tizen OS build number R732XXU2DPFB for the Gear S2 Classic and R730XXU2DPFB for the regular model, offering wearers of the round smartwatch some new features as well as other enhancements.

The new Gear S2 Firmware Update includes:

• Adds a new watch face named My Photo

• Adds social networking sharing and automatic measurement features for Sleep (Needs S health 4.8 or higher)

• Supports new commands for starting the Timer and Message apps using S Voice. (USA, Korea, China, Japan)

• Adds Contacts app and widget

• Provides GMT and sunrise/sunset information in World Clock

• Displays life index in Weather

• Marks the days with events in the Schedule (Month) widget

• Downloads the recommended apps and watch faces directly from Gear S2

The new Tizen OS Firmware Update, which takes up 61.1MB of space, is now rolling out to all Gear S2 and S2 Classic wearers as a free update.
