Blackberry DTEK50 Officially Announced


Blackberry has officially announced its latest and greatest product, as well as the latest member joining its growing list of Android-powered smartphones, the Blackberry DTEK50, delivering "the world’s most secure Android smartphone".

The Blackberry DTEK50 features 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 617 64-bit Octa-core processor, 3GB of memory, 16GB of built-in storage, microSD card (up to 2TB), 13MP shooter with Phase Detect Auto Focus and 8MP front-facing camera, 2610mAh battery with Quick charge 2.0 support, and runs Android Marshmallow combined with BlackBerry’s "unique security, privacy, and productivity".

The phone comes in 7.4 mm thin and weighs 135g, with Metal frame, scratch resistant display, Dual stereo speakers, Intelligent BlackBerry Keyboard, Customisable BlackBerry Convenience Key, 4G connectivity, NFC, and Pre-loaded with BlackBerry apps like BlackBerry Hub, BBM, DTEK by BlackBerry, and other BlackBerry Services.

According to Blackberry "We take our customers’ privacy seriously. That’s why we’re proud to have all the security and privacy functionality that’s built in our newest Android smartphone. DTEK50 merges the unique security and connectivity features BlackBerry is known for with the rich Android ecosystem," The company continued "DTEK50 adds to BlackBerry’s lineup of secure smartphones, providing choices to our customers with different price points on both BlackBerry 10 and Android platforms".

The Blackberry DTEK50 is now available to pre-order for $299 through the company's online store, while the phone is expected to begin shipping August 8.
