Apple Releases iOS 10 Public Beta 2

Following the release of iOS 10 Public Beta 1 earlier this month, the company has officially launched the second public beta of its latest mobile operating systems, iOS 10 Public Beta 2, to the public for download and testing.

Similar to iOS 10 Beta 3, the second public beta build of iOS 10 features:

  • New sound and haptic feedback when locking your iPhone
  • New Accessibility option that allows users to open an iPhone with Touch ID with just a finger on the button
  • The muted popping-style keyboard sound is now back
  • New "App Support" section of Siri that will display information on which apps work with Siri and access your data
  • Audio playback through the internal speaker will no longer stop because of haptic feedback
  • 3D Touching on an app icon will now bring up a Share option that includes the name of the app
  • new "Improve Activity" option that allows you to send anonymous health-related information to Apple, with a pop-up that gives you the option to enable it when opening the Health app for the first time
  • Devices that act as your HomeKit hub, like the Apple TV, are now appropriately marked and listed in your HomeKit settings
  • The “Downloads” section in Apple Music has been renamed “Downloaded Music”
  • Pokémon Go feels snappier and fixes gyroscope issues
iOS 10 Public Beta 2 is now rolling out as a free update to public beta testers registered in the company's Beta Software Program.
