Samsung Introducing Gear Fit 2


Samsung has officially announced its latest and greatest wearable product, as well as the latest member joining the Gear family, the Gear Fit 2, delivering a successor to the two years old Gear Fit that offers "lightweight, always-on GPS sports band".

The Gear Fit 2 features 1.5-inch (216 x 432) Curved Super AMOLED display, Dual-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz, 512MB of memory, 4GB of built-in storage, 200mAh battery, embedded GPS, heart rate monitor, Bluetooth 4.2, IP68 certified (up to 30 minutes in up to 1.5m of water), and Tizen OS (compatible with Android 4.4 with 1.5GB RAM).

The wearable band comes in Small (125 ~ 170mm) and Large (155 ~ 210mm) sizes, with standalone music player, Auto Activity Tracking, the ability to sync fitness data between S Health and other select fitness applications, check and respond to text message notifications, as well as Black, Blue, and Pink color options.


According to Samsung "Living a healthy lifestyle is a top priority for consumers to enjoy fulfilling lives. Our wearable technology can enhance existing routines and blend fitness and fun. The Gear Fit2 and Gear IconX are specialized to easily address these needs, ultimately allowing users to get more out of their fitness experiences and everyday activities".

The Samsung Gear Fit 2 will be available starting June 10 and will reportedly be priced at $180. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on availability.
