WhatsApp Launches Desktop App

Following the announcement of End-To-End Encryption earlier last month, the Facebook-owned proprietary cross-platform instant messaging service is back once again with some pretty exciting news and revealed an all-new desktop app.

WhatsApp Desktop App, which is said to be an extension of your phone, features:

  • Lets you message with friends and family while your phone stays in your pocket
  • Mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device
  • Syncs with WhatsApp on your mobile device
  • Runs natively on your desktop
  • Support for native desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more
  • Compatible with Windows 8 or later as well as Mac OS 10.9 or newer
Reminder: Once you downloaded the desktop version of WhatsApp, you need to open the app and scan the QR code using the WhatsApp app on your phone (look for WhatsApp Web menu under Settings) in order to activate and sync it.

WhatsApp Desktop App is now available to download for free on both PC and Mac devices through the link down below.
