Samsung Introducing Galaxy Tab Iris


Samsung has officially revealed its latest and greatest mid-range tablet, as well as the latest member joining the Galaxy Tab family, the Galaxy Tab Iris, delivering a brand new tablet that offers iris recognition technology for Government and Enterprises.

The Galaxy Tab Iris features 7.0-inch WSVGA(1024×600) display, Quad-core processor clocked at 1.2Ghz, 1.5GB of memory, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card (up to 200 GB microSD), 5MP shooter with autofocus, 3600mAh battery, 3G connectivity, USB OTG Host support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The tablet comes in 9.7mm thin and weighs 327g, with iris-recognition technology with Aadhar-compliant and STQC-certified for security, and will enable cashless and paperless services in various applications such as banking, eGovernance services such as passport, taxation, healthcare and education.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Iris will be available in India for INR 13499 (about $200). Unfortunately, there is no word yet on release date.
