Samsung Launches New Gear S2 Firmware Update

Following the announcement of the Gear S2 getting iOS support one week ago, Samsung has released a brand new build of Tizen OS for its Gear S2, offering wearers of the round smartwatch some new features as well as other enhancements.

The new Gear S2 Firmware Update includes:
  • Adds the Flight Mode
  • Enhances the Digital watch face so you can pick an image from the Gallery app on Gear
  • Adds the manual update feature for the News Briefing app
  • Adjusts brightness automatically to avoid excessive glare in dark environment
The new Tizen OS Firmware Update, which takes up 20.39 MB of space, is now rolling out to all Gear S2 wearers as a free update.
