Google Releases Android N Developer Preview 2


Following the release of Android N Developer Preview 1 one month ago, the company has officially launched an all-new build of Android N, Android N Developer Preview 2, to developers for download and testing.

Android N Developer Preview 2 includes some new features as well as other improvements such as:

  • Vulkan support for better Graphics
  • Launcher shortcuts to help you perform actions quicker
  • Emoji Unicode 9 support, which brings new emoji design for people emoji that moves away from the generic look in favor of a more human-looking design
  • Updated Folders look in stock Google Now launcher
  • Clear All button has been added to the top of the Recents Menu
  • An issue where users could not connect to hidden Wi-Fi networks has been fixed
  • Multiwindow pauses such as trying to play YouTube videos in Multiwindow mode has been fixed
  • Direct Reply closing an open activity has been fixed
Android N Developer Preview 2 is now available to download on Nexus 5X, 6, 6P, 9, 9G, Nexus Player, Pixel C, General Mobile 4G (Android One) through the link down below. Although, users registered in the Android Beta Program will get it via OTA updates.
