Star Wars Battlefront Outer Rim Expansion Launches Today


Following the launch of Battle of Jakku DLC late last year, Electronic Arts has officially announced that the first digital expansion pack of Star Wars Battlefront, the Outer Rim Expansion, will now begin rolling out on computers as well as current-gen consoles.

The Outer Rim Expansion features:

  • 4 New locations including Jabba’s Palace, Palace Garage, SoroSuub Refinery, and SoroSuub Pipelines
  • New game mode called Extraction
  • 2 New playable Hero and Villain including Sullustan rebel Nien Nunb and Rodian bounty hunter Greedo 
  • Hutt Contracts, where you'll engage with Jabba the Hutt himself and take on dangerous contracts in order to unlock new Star Cards and Weapons
The studio has also announced a new Patch, which includes:
  • Quick Match and Playlists
  • Teamplay Focus, with the ability to "tag" or "focus" on any game mode objective
  • Spectator Mode, with the ability to join a Private Match as a spectator where you can track players on the server in first person and third person
  • Combat Roll, enabling players to roll left or right to quickly get out of danger or surprise a foe
  • Level Cap has been increase to 60, which unlocks the Weequay customization
  • New Trophies and Achievements
Star Wars Battlefront Outer Rim DLC is now rolling out for free on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 to all Season Pass owners. Although, players will get the chance to purchase the standalone expansion starting April 5 for $14.99.
