Samsung Gear S2 iOS Support Officially Confirmed

Following multiple rumors of Samsung Gear S2 getting support for Apple device, Verizon Wireless has officially confirmed that Samsung is indeed working on bringing support of iOS devices to its latest and greatest wearable smartwatch through a software update.

The new Samsung Gear S2 Firmware Update, build number R730VVRU1BPC1, will be featuring:
  • Adds compatibility with iOS devices using 8.4 and newer
  • Adds compatibility with smartphones using Android Marshmallow 
  • A random clock freeze issue has been fixed

The new Firmware Update is expected to begin rolling out on starting today on Samsung Gear S2 first to Verizon customers, while a nationwide spread is expected to follow later on.
