Sony has revealed that ForwardWorks will be working on delivering users with opportunity to casually enjoy "full-fledged" game titles on their mobile devices, by using PlayStation characters, IP, and Sony's experience in the video game market. However, unlike Nintendo's approach to the mobile space, Sony is expected to bring a more traditional one.
According to Sony "ForwardWorks will leverage the intellectual property of the numerous PlayStation dedicated software titles and its gaming characters as well as the knowledge and know-how of gaming development expertise which was acquired over the years with PlayStation business to provide gaming application optimized for smart devices including smartphones".
ForwardWorks, which will be headed by Atsushi Morita as President is scheduled to begin operation starting April 1st, while the first market to get the very first title will be Japan and Asia.
