Following the launch of Android Payabout six months ago, Google is back with some pretty exciting news and has announced its latest and greatest mobile payments service, Hands Free, offering users a whole new way to make in-store payments without ever reaching for their phone or wallet.
The Hands Free app, which is an entirely separate app and is not related to Android Pay, features:
No digging around for cash, credit cards, or loose change
Just say "I’ll pay with Google" at checkout
Your identity is confirmed and the charge is processed securely
Purchase details are sent right to your phone
Works with Android Jelly Bean v4.2+ and iPhone 4S+ devices
Unfortunately, since the Hands Free app is still in testing, South Bay residents in North America will be the only ones able to test out this new fully hands free mobile payment service, which is rolling out to a small number of McDonald’s, Papa John’s, and local eateries in the area.
