Nvidia Releases Android Marshmallow For The Original SHIELD Tablet


Following the launch of Android Marshmallow on the SHIELD Tablet K1 six weeks ago, Nvidia has officially announced that the company's original gaming tablet, the SHIELD Tablet, will now be getting Google's latest and sweetest Android OS.

Android Marshmallow for the original SHIELD Tablet brings some new features as well as other enhancements such as:

  • Now On Tap
  • Improved App Permissions
  • New camera UI with improved burst photo functionality and new real-time HD Image Effects
  • MicroSD cards can now be integrated with main internal storage, auto managed by system
  • New User Interface customization
  • Power Consumption enhancements
  • System wide improvements
Reminder: It it recommended to back up the MicroSD card prior to downloading this update. To setup the MicroSD card, you can either choose Portable Storage - which will not delete data from the SD card, or Internal Storage - which will wipe all data from the SD card

Nvidia SHIELD Tablet Software Upgrade 4.0 is now rolling out to all SHIELD Tablet owners as a free update.
