Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition Officially Announced

Canonical in collaboration with Meizu has officially revealed its latest and greatest product, as well as the latest member joining the Ubuntu family, the Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition, delivering the company's "most sophisticated and feature-rich Ubuntu phone in the market".

The Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition features 5.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display, Exynos7420 64-bit Octa-core processor, Mali T760 GPU, 3GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB internal storage, 21MP shooter and 5MP front-facing camera, Gorilla Glass 3, Hi-Fi Sound, Dual-SIM support, and the latest Ubuntu for Phone OS.

Although, Canonical hasn't released the full specs of the phone. Looking back at the original Meizu Pro 5, the Ubuntu Edition is also expected to come with Metal design, 4G Connectivity, USB Type-C, fast charging, 3050mAh battery, and microSD card.

According to Canonical "Our partnership with Meizu continues to result in the creation of beautifully designed hardware that perfectly complements the Ubuntu user experience. Users are always at the heart of our work together –something that brings an intuitive and rewarding experience to consumers everywhere".

The Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition will be available to pre-order next week through Meizu's online store. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on pricing.
