Apple Releases Xcode 7.2.1

Following the release of Xcode 7.3 beta 2 alongside iOS 9.3 Beta 2 earlier last week, Apple has officially launched an all-new build of Xcode 7, Xcode 7.2.1 build number 7C1002, to developers for download and update.

Xcode 7.2.1, which includes Swift 2.1.1 and SDKs for iOS 9.2, watchOS 2.1, tvOS 9.1, and OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan, bring several bug fixes such as:

  • Command line tool 'xcodebuild test' will no longer time out waiting for Simulator.app to launch
  • Debugger crash that could occur in code depending on a binary Swift library or framework has been resolved
  • Updated the certificate used to develop Apple Wallet passes, Safari Push Notifications, and Safari Extensions
  • Additional bug fixes and stability improvements
Xcode 7.2.1 is now rolling out as a free update through the Mac App Store to registered developers with at least OS X 10.10.5.
