Android Marshmallow Coming To Nvidia Shield


Following the launch of Android Marshmallow on the SHIELD Tablet K1 couple weeks ago, Nvidia has officially announced that the Shield Android TV, the company's next-gen gaming and entertainment device, will soon be receiving Google's latest and greatest Android OS.

Android Marshmallow brings a number of new features and enhancements to the Nvidia Shield, including:

  • Redesigned Google Play Store in order to make finding your favorite apps even more easier
  • Adoptable Storage, enabling external storage to be used as internal memory
  • Enhancing set up process, enabling users to wirelessly transfer their Google account to the Shield by simply using "Okay Google, set up my device"
  • New customization including the ability to edit the apps that can push suggested content, re-order apps and games in the download section
  • New game - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
  • New app that delivers the world’s largest library of 4K content- UltraFlix
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to begin rolling out within the next few weeks, while Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released January 7.
