Raspberry Introducing Pi Zero ($5 Computer)

Following the announcement of the Next Thing Co. C.H.I.P. ($9 Computer) about six months ago, Raspberry has officially revealed its latest and greatest product, the Pi Zero, delivering a "full-fledged member of the Raspberry Pi family" at an insane affordable price tag.

The Pi Zero features a Broadcom BCM2835 Single-core processor clocked at 1Ghz, 512MB RAM, microSD card, mini HDMI and USB On-The-Go ports, micro USB for power, HAT-compatible 40-pin header, composite video and reset headers, and Raspbian OS.

The tiny computer comes in 65mm x 30mm x 5mm, with 40% faster performance compared to the Raspberry Pi 1, compatible with all your favourite applications, including Scratch, Minecraft and Sonic Pi, as well as 1080p 60fps video output.

The Raspberry Pi Zero is now available for $5 in US from Adafruit and Micro Center, while UK will get via The Pi Hut and Pimoroni. Although, users can also receive the computer for free if they purchase a copy of the December issue of The MagPi.
