Apple Music Launches On Android

Following the release of Apple Music on iOS, Apple Watch, Apple TVMac, as well as PC devices about five months ago, Apple has officially announced that it is now expending its subscription-based music streaming service to Google-based mobile devices.

Apple Music for Android almost shares the same features and design elements as the iOS version, including a very similar look to the original app, the ability to play from over 30 million songs in the Apple Music catalog, listen to Beats 1's 24/7 radio, and engage with your favorite artists through Connect. Although, the app does feature some Android design elements including a slide-out hamburger menu as well as an overflow button for extra settings.

However, since Apple Music for Android is still in beta stages, the music streaming service lacks a few features such as:

  • The ability to watch Music videos
  • Family membership sign-ups and upgrades are only available for Mac or iOS devices
  • Sign-up process to be optimized
Apple Music is now available on Android with a 3-month free trial, while users can renew their membership for $9.99/month once the trial period ends.
