Google Officially Releases Android Marshmallow

Following the launch of Android Marshmallow Developer Preview 3 seven weeks ago, Google has officially released the final build of Android M to the public, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, offering the company's "sweetest, smartest Android version yet".

Android Marshmallow includes under-the-hood improvements as well as some new features including:

  • Now on Tap instantly pulls up relevant info and helps you get more done from any app
  • New battery saving features including Doze and App Standby with up to 30% longer battery life
  • The ability to control app permissions 
  • Fingerprint Sensor and Mobile Payment support
  • Set up your new device from your old one and migrating your apps and app data now supports Tablet and Android TV
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now rolling out to Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9, and Nexus Player devices, while Android One devices are expected to get it very soon.
