Samsung Introducing Gear S2


Samsung has officially revealed its latest and greatest wearable product, as well as the latest member joining the Gear family, the Gear S2, delivering a successor to last year's Samsung Gear S that offers "versatile circular design for an intuitive, convenient, and enjoyable mobile experience".

The Gear S2 features 1.2-inch (360x360) Circular Super AMOLED display, Dual-core processor clocked at 1.0 GHz, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, wireless charging support, up to 2-3 days of battery life, IP68 (Dust and Water Resistant), Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and Tizen OS (works with Android KitKat).

The smartwatch comes in 11.4mm thin, with rotating bezel and circular UI, Home and Back buttons, 3G connectivity with e-SIM and voice capability option,S Health, Nike+ Running, and 24-hour activity log, NFC with mobile payments support, range of watch faces and watch bands, as well as two options including Gear S2 with Dark Gray case and Dark Gray band, or Silver case and White band, and Gear S2 Classic with Black case and a Leather band.

According to JK Shin, CEO and Head of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Business "The Samsung Gear S2 reflects Samsung’s most progressive innovation. It is the perfect complement for any occasion, easily taking you from day to night, from work to workout—and ensuring that you get more out of every moment in your day, by making it smarter and ultimately more personal and fun".

Unfortunately, there is no official word yet on the Samsung Gear S2 pricing and availability. Although T-Mobile has confirmed that the company will be selling the circular smartwatch this Fall.
