Following Google's Android TV-based consoles, including the Nexus Player, Nvidia Shield, and Amazon Fire TV, Apple will be the latest company to join mobile-based consoles party, with its long anticipated and much waited Apple TV refresh, the Apple TV 4th Generation, which is said to feature a more power processor and GPU for better gaming and graphics performance, a new remote that doubles as a controller, as well as a brand new AppStore to buy and download games.
According to Jan Dawson, chief analyst at the technology research firm Jackdaw Research "I think Apple’s going to create a big new category in gaming, one that others have tried and failed to create before," He continued "What the Apple TV has the potential to do is to bring casual gaming to the living room and make it a much more social activity".
Apple is expected to reveal the Apple TV 4th Gen during its upcoming Event, which is scheduled for September 9, with a brand new Gaming feature and an AppStore.
