Google Reveals Chromecast (2nd-Gen)

Google has officially announced its latest and greatest streaming media product, as well as the latest member joining the Chrome family, the Chromecast (2nd-Gen), delivering a successor to the original Chromecast with a refreshed design and an easier way to plug into TVs.

The Chromecast (2nd-Gen) features a new circular design, 512MB RAM, 1080p videos support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (support for both 2.4GHz and 5Ghz), integrated HDMI cable, and Micro-USB ports, and compatible with Android 4.1+, iOS 7.0+, Windows 7, or Mac OS X 10.7, and Chrome OS

The streaming device comes in 13.49mm thin and weighs 39.1g, with new algorithm that enables the device to adapt and change more easily the Wi-Fi conditions to deliver the higher quality video with less buffering, Updated Chromecast app with easier ways to find and discover content, as well as Black, Coral, and Lemonade color options.

The company has also revealed Chromecast Audio that was specially designed to plugs into your existing speakers through either RCA, 3.5mm jack, or Optical output, and can stream your favorite music, radio and podcasts over Wi-Fi via your smartphone or computer.

According to Google "Introducing the new Chromecast and Chromecast Audio. Use your phone, tablet or laptop to cast your favorite entertainment to bigger screens and better speakers. Don’t love your favorite movies, music and games a little, love them a lot".

The Chromecast (2nd-Gen) and the Chromecast Audio are now available for $35 each through Google Store and BestBuy.
