Blackberry Priv (Venice) Officially Confirmed

Following the leaked BlackBerry Venice Hands-On over a week ago, John Chen, executive chairman and CEO of BlackBerry has officially announced that the company is in fact working on an Android-powered smartphone called Blackberry Priv.

Similar to previous Blackberry Venice leaks, the Blackberry Priv will be featuring a touch display with curved screen, slide-out physical keyboard, and runs a near stock version of Android Lollipop. The slider phone will also come with the company's DNA of security, privacy and productivity, as part of the company's efforts to transform the iconic BlackBerry brand into a "true software powerhouse".

The Blackberry Priv will be available later this year. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on the phone's specs, pricing, or availability.
