Apple Reveals New Apple TV

Apple has officially revealed its latest and greatest set-top box, as well as the latest member joining the Apple TV family, the Apple TV 4th Gen, delivering an all-new device that offers a "revolutionary experience to the living room based on apps built for the television".

The Apple TV 4th Gen features A8 chip 64-bit Dual-core processor, 32/64GB internal storage, Siri Remote with touch surface and voice support, HDMI 1.4, Wi‑Fi 802.11ac with MIMO, Ethernet and USB‑C ports, Bluetooth 4.0, IR receiver, and an all-new tvOS based on iOS.

The set-top box comes in 98mm thin and weighs 425g, with new modern user interface, Siri integation and voice commands, search suggestions and filters, Apple Music integration, Apps and Games, App Store, and Black color option.

According to Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services "There has been so much innovation in entertainment and programming through iOS apps, we want to bring that same excitement to the television," He continued "Apps make the TV experience even more compelling for viewers and we think apps represent the future of TV".

The New Apple TV will be available late October starting at $149 for the base model, while the higher-end model will go for $199.
