Amazon Introducing Fire TV (2nd-Gen)

Amazon has officially revealed its latest and greatest set-top box, as well as the latest member joining the Fire family, the Fire TV (2nd-Gen), delivering an all-new Fire TV that's 75% more power compared to last year's model.

The Fire TV (2nd-Gen) features MediaTek 64-bit Quad-core processor (2x2.0GHz + 2x1.6GHz), Power VR GX6250 GPU, 2GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD card (up to 128 GB), HDMI, USB 2.0, and Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 802.11ac MIMO, built-in support for Alexa and voice search, and Fire OS 5.

The set-top box comes in 17.8mm thin and weighs 270g, with 4K Ultra HD content and High Efficiency Video Coding support, included Remote with Voice Support, Dolby Audio, Screen sharing and display mirroring, optional Game Controller with voice search and audio jack for private listening with Dolby enhancements, and Mayday Screen Sharing (Customer Service).

According to Jeff Bezos, Founder and CEO "The team has packed an incredible amount of technology and innovation into a tiny package," He continued "The new Fire TV includes 4K support, more processing power, Alexa integration, the largest selection, and exclusive features—for less than $100".

The Amazon Fire TV (2nd-Gen) is now available to pre-order for $99.99, while the set-top box will begin shipping starting October 5.
