Sony Introducing Xperia C5 Ultra & Xperia M5


Sony has officially revealed its latest and greatest products, as well as the latest members joining the Xperia family, the Xperia C5 Ultra and the Xperia M5, delivering two new devices that offer "advances in camera, design, battery and performance".

The Xperia C5 Ultra features 6-inch 1080p IPS display, MediaTek MTK6752 64-bit Octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, ARM Mali760 MP2 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card (up to 200 GB), 13MP shooter and another 13MP front-facing camera, 2930 mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Xperia M5 features 5-inch 1080p display, MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit Octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, IMG Rogue G6200 GPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card (up to 200 GB), 21.5MP shooter and 13MP front-facing camera, 2600 mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Both devices support 4G connectivity, NFC, single-Sim and dual-SIM option, Bluetooth 4.1, DLNA support, as well as Black and White color options. However, the phablet comes in 8.2 mm thin and weighs 187 g, with Scratch-resistant support, and Soft Mint color option,while the smaller phone comes in 7.6mm thin and weighs 142.5g, with IP65 and IP68 (Waterproof and Dust tight) support, and Gold color option.

According to Tony McNulty, Vice-President, Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile Communications "We understand that camera capabilities are important to smartphone users, so we ensured that Sony’s existing camera brilliance was once again surpassed in the new Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5 without compromising on other features across design and performance".


The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra and the Xperia M5 will be available mid-August in select regions across emerging markets. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on pricing.
