Microsoft Releases New Windows 10 Mobile Insiders Preview Build


Following the launch of Windows 10 Mobile Insiders Preview Build 10166 one moths ago, as well as the announcement of the first devices to upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile earlier this month, Microsoft has officially released an all-new build of Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 10 Mobile Insiders Preview Build 10512, to Windows Insiders for download and testing.

Windows 10 Mobile Insiders Preview Build 10512 features improvements to the core quality of the operating system, including:

  • General improvement in overall stability and performance
  • Lock screen and background image from within the Photos app can now be set
  • Apps installed on SD cards not working after a reboot issue has been fixed
  • Improvements to Latvian and Chinese inputs
  • Improvements to the Kid’s Corner tile layout
  • Improved to the reliability of Data Sense notifications
  • Modified Shape Writing algorithm to be less aggressive in suggesting contact names over common words
  • Camera would not launch when the phone was locked 
  • Notifications for incoming text messages not appearing issue has been fixed
  • The touch screen not responsive after ending a phone call on some devices issue has been fixed
  • Folder tiles have obviously overlapping text issue has been fixed
Windows 10 Mobile Insiders Preview Build 10512 is now available through Windows Update for users who are already on the Windows 10 Mobile build, as part of the company's Fast Ring builds program.
