Apple Releases OS X El Capitan Public Beta 5

Following the launch of OS X El Capitan Public Beta 4 about couple weeks ago, Apple has officially released a brand new build of OS X El Capitan Public Beta, OS X El Capitan Public Beta 5 build number 15A262e, to public testers for download and testing.

The fifth of OS X El Capitan Public Beta almost shares the same changes brought by the recently released OS X El Capitan Beta 7, except that "Dashboard" has now apparently been disabled by default. Although, users can still re-enable it by going to:

  • System Preferences
  • Mission Control
  • choose "As Space" from the Dashboard drop-down menu
  • Tap on the Dashboard key on your keyboard to bring up the window
OS X El Capitan Public Beta 5 is now available through Software Update or via the company's Beta Software Program for registered public beta testers.
