Instagram Announces High Resolution Images Support

Following the launch of Hyperlapse late last year, Michel "Mike" Krieger, the co-founder of Instagram, has officially revealed the latest update coming to the very popular online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service, Instagram.

Mike Krieger has announced that Instagram will be bumping up the resolution of photo uploads from the old 640x640 to the all-new higher-quality 1080x1080, making your viewing experience even more "sharper" than ever before, while still keeping the familiar square aspect ratio.

According to Krieger "We're rolling out 1080x1080 uploads (and higher-quality viewing) for IG on iOS and Android. Let me know if feed looks a bit sharper today :)".

High Resolution Images Support for Instagram is now rolling out to Android and iOS.
