Windows 10 Upgrade Editions Revealed

Following the reveal of Windows 10 Pricing just one day ago, Microsoft has revealed the latest update coming to Windows 10, offering Windows user an idea of which edition they will be getting in case they choose to upgrade to the company's latest and greatest Windows OS.

The company has announced that Windows 7 Starter and Windows 7 Home Premium users will get Windows 10 Home, while Windows 7 Professional owners will receive Windows 10 Pro. However Windows 8.1 owners including "Single Language" and "With Bing" will get Windows 10 Home, while Windows 8.1 Pro users will receive Windows 10 Pro. Last but not least, Windows Phone 8.1 devices will be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile, although the upgrade availability may vary by OEM, mobile operator or carrier.

Reminder: Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise, and Windows RT/RT 8.1 editions has been excluded. Active Software Assurance customers in volume licensing have the benefit to upgrade to Windows 10 enterprise offerings outside of this offer.

Windows 10 will be available as a free upgrade starting July 29 on PCs and Tablets, while smartphone devices and Xbox One consoles will get later later this year.
