Samsung Launches Galaxy S6 Active

Following the release of the Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge and the recently leaked Galaxy S6 Active, Samsung has officially revealed the latest member joining the Galaxy S family, as well as the new variant of the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Active, delivering "the toughest and most advanced member of the Galaxy S family".

The Galaxy S6 Active features 5.1-inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED display, 64-bit Octa-core processor (most likely Exynos 7420), 32GB internal storage, 16MP shooter and 5MP front-facing camera, IP68 (water resistant), shock resistant, and dust proof, 4G LTE, 3,500 mAh battery, and Android Lollipop.

The phone comes with rugged design, Activity Zone, Samsung KNOX, built-in wireless charging, fast charging (up to 50% in about 30min), HD Voice capabilities, as well as Camo White and Camo Blue color options.

According to Tim Baxter, President & COO & Mobile Division GM of Samsung Electronics America "With the Galaxy S6 active, we’re delivering consumers with high durability coupled with the powerful performance of Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone" He continued "The result is a smartphone that brings ruggedized capabilities and water resistance coupled with the camera, battery and design features that empower our consumers and business users to do more".

AT&T has also announced a couple of deals for new Galaxy S6 Active owners including a giveaway of the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 with a two year agreement, as well as a 50% discount of the Wireless Charging Pad with Next or a two year agreement.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will be available Starting June 12 exclusively on AT&T for $199.99 with a two-year contract, or $28.96 per month for 24 months with AT&T’s Next plan.
