Microsoft Reveals Windows 10 Official Launch Date

Following the leaked Windows 10 release date about six weeks ago, and the announcement of Phone Companion For Windows 10 about a weeks ago, Microsoft has officially revealed the latest update coming to its latest and greatest Windows OS, that Windows 10 will be heading to Windows users next month.

Windows 10 features:

  • Cortana: The company's personal digital assistant
  • Microsoft Edge: An all-new browser designed to get things done
  • Office on Windows: New Universal Windows apps alongside Office 2016
  • Xbox Live and the integrated Xbox App: Brings Xbox Live gaming network to PCs and tablets
  • New Photos, Videos, Music, Maps, People, Mail & Calendar apps: updated designs with the ability to stor on and sync your content via OneDrive
  • Windows Continuum: Enables smooth transitions from tablet (mobile) mode to desktop mode, and vice versa
  • Windows Hello: Offers instant and more secure access to your Windows 10 devices
  • Windows Store: easy install and uninstall apps with support for range of payment methods
According to Microsoft "In addition to these innovations, we will continue to update Windows 10 over time with new innovations to help you be more productive and have more fun. Like Windows 10 itself, these updates will be free for the supported lifetime of your device".

Windows 10 will be available starting July 29 as a free update (within one year of availability) for PC and Tablet devices. Although Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users can now reserve their Windows 10 free upgrade.
