Microsoft Releases New Windows 10 Mobile Insiders Preview Build


Following the release of Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10136 ten days ago, and the recently leaked Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10149, Microsoft has officially released a new build of Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10149, to Windows Insiders for download and testing

Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10149 features:

  • Microsoft Edge branding is now included, the address bar has been moved to the bottom of the screen, and websites can be seen in Mobile or Desktop view
  • General UX improvements and refinement including clear and crisp Live tiles, refinement of controls, updated icons and visuals, and more responsive OS
  • Improvements to Cortana including its Notebook as it now features a combined Profile and Settings experience, and the ability to send e-mails and voice corrections
  • You can now activate the Flashlight directly from the Action Center
  • Photos app for Windows 10 has been updated with general performance and reliability improvements, and animated GIFs support
  • The ability to automatically back up and upload your camera roll to OneDrive
  • Many Windows 10 first party apps has been updated through the Store Beta
Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10149 also includes bug fixes such as:
  • Call + SMS filtering issue has been fixed 
  • Text notifications not appearing for incoming messages has been fixed
  • The Podcast app not working issue has been fixed
  • Apps having trouble installing or updating via the Store Beta has been fixed
  • The navigation bar couldn’t be hidden issue has been fixed
Reminder: After upgrading, the Lock screen will appear frozen without the date and time for up to 10 minutes. Be patient and eventually the date and time will appear and it will allow you to unlock your phone.

Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10149 is now available for users who are already on the Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview, as part of the company's Fast Ring protocol.
