Google Launches Google Photos

Following rumors about Google separating the Photos service from its Google+ service, which is the company's social network and social layer for google services, Google has officially revealed its latest and greatest product, Google Photos, offering a new standalone product that delivers a "fresh approach to photos and videos".

Google Photos features:

  • One place to keep all of your photos and videos that can be accessible from any device
  • Organize and bring your moments to life via days, months, years, people, and places
  • Editing tools to help you make each photo look its best
  • Assistant view that suggest new effects to apply on your photos and video
  • Easily share and save across any service, as well as generating a link to share hundreds of photos at once
According to Google "A fresh approach to photos and videos with Google Photos. An app that's a home for all your photos and videos, helps you organize and bring your moments to life, and lets you share and save what matters".

The company has also announced that Google Photos will allow users to upload Unlimited photos and video, limited to 16MP photos and 1080p videos, for free. Google Photos will be available later today on Android, iOS, and the Web.
