Samsung Officially Unveiled The First Tizen Smartphone


Couple of days ago Samsung Updated its Galaxy Gear with Tizen OS, and today Samsung finally announced its first Smartphone Tizen based OS.

The Samsung Z features 4.8” HD Super AMOLED (1280 x 720) display, 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD Card, 8MP main camera with 2.1MP front-facer, LTE Support, 2600mAh Battery, and of course Tizen 2.2.1. The Samsung Z will be available in Q3 in Russia and is planned to expand to other markets.

According to DJ Lee, President and Head of Global Sales & Marketing Office, Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics "Samsung is committed to enhancing the mobile experience of consumers with innovation that is both personal and unique to their needs,"

"The Samsung Z integrates the power and adaptability of the Tizen platform, enabling users to browse the web faster and utilize applications more effectively."

Samsung has been working on Tizen for years now, and looks like it's finally ready to start its own platform and compete with android.
