15-year-old inventor Suman Mulumudi and his father, cardiologist Mahesh Mulumudi, have developed Steth IO, a stethoscope that is powered by your smartphone.
The device is basically a case for your smartphone that has a diaphragm which captures the sounds of our heart. The sound is then routed through a channel to your smartphone's microphone, then an app captures and visualizes a patient's heartbeat.
