NSA infiltrated RSA security deeper than everyone thought

After leaks revealed that the NSA had a back door into a common encryption method from the RSA, it turns out that the vulnerability was worse than some thought. University researchers have shown evidence to Reuters that a second NSA-supplied tool, which sold as part of a security kit, let the intelligence agency crack the RSA's already susceptible encryption "tens of thousands of times faster" than usual. It's not clear how much damage this tool did, however the RSA says it pulled the tool within the past six months, so it won't be a major concern in the future.
